COVID-19 Preparedness Plan for Summer Lantern Bash
Friday & Saturday, August 28th – 29th, 2020
Summer Lantern Bash is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all our customers, employees, artists and volunteers. To ensure we have a safe and healthy workplace, Summer Lantern Bash has developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic based off the industry guidance applicable to our business provided by the state of Minnesota.
Our goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our workplaces and communities, and that requires full cooperation of our customers, employees, artists and volunteers. Any customers, employees, artists or volunteers are being asked to stay at home if they feel sick. Although mitigation efforts are being executed during this event, all customers, employees, artists and volunteers agree to assume the risk of transmission of Covid-19 while working this event as Summer Lantern Bash cannot guarantee a risk-free environment.
Rustic Campground (opens Thursday, 8/27 @ 5 p.m.):
The Campground will not be sold to full capacity. Currently the capacity is set at ½ of normal operations (85 of 170 available spaces) to allow for campers to spread out from each other.
Campers need to ensure that their campsites are set up a minimum of 6 feet from each other.
Campers are advised to practice social distancing when interacting with other campers not from their own campsite. Masks are not required outdoors unless social distancing is not possible.
During campground check-in, the event staff at gate will wear a face covering and sanitizer their hands frequently. To reduce interaction at the gate, customers only need to present their camping ticket in a quick exchange for a camping pass that is to be visibly displayed on the camper/tent. Although customers need to visually show their weekend passes in order to camp, the camping gate staff will not be collecting those. Customers will need to bring their weekend passes to the concert front gates when those gates open on concert day to get concert wristbands.
Gates (open @ 5 p.m. each day/Friday & Saturday:
Only 250 tickets will be sold for the weekend. Tickets entitles customer to attend both nights or Friday only or Saturday only.
Ticket Sellers, ticket takers and gate security will wear a face cover and frequently use hand sanitizer while assisting customers.
An acrylic barrier between ticket sellers and customers will be in place
Hand sanitizer will be available to any customers who requests it.
Ticket sellers/takers will give Customers a concert wristband to put on themselves. Only customers who are 21+ will receive a 21+ wristband, therefore it will be necessary for the 21+ customer to put the wristband on in front of ticket taker after IDs have been verified by ticket takers. Ticket sellers/takers won’t handle Customer IDs as customers will be ask to pull ID out to display it staff.
There will be one entrance pathway and a separate exit pathway to/from concert area.
Customers will be reminded to stand 6 feet apart from each other when standing in line for ticket sales or concert wristbands at front gates.
Although masks are not mandatory in outdoor settings, customers are encouraged to wear their masks while standing in line. All customers are highly encouraged to at least bring a mask with to the outdoor event just in case the customer finds themselves in a situation where social distancing is not possible while interacting with other customers, waiting in line, walking by others, etc.
There are NO Artist Meet & Greets and as always, customers are not allowed in the backstage area.
There will NOT be a “Mosh Pit” for standing room at the front of stage. Only seating (bring your own) will be allowed towards front of venue. Seating will be allowed to start approx. 12 feet from stage.
Customers are expected to place their group of chairs 6 feet from other groups of customers. SLB staff will be available to assist with placement if needed and will be monitoring to help ensure spacing stays social distanced between groups. “Groups” are the people that customers arrive with together.
Customers need to practice 6 feet of social distance when waiting in line for bathrooms and concessions.
There will be 1 handwashing station (has 2 sides/sinks) by the Porta Potties.
Food & Beverage:
Staff will wear face coverings and frequently use hand sanitizer and wipe down customer touch point areas throughout shift.

Friday Night Concert BBQ Meal – customers will receive a ticket at the gate when presenting their concert ticket. Customer will take BBQ Meal ticket to Concessions and Staff will dish up the customer’s plate of the BBQ Meal. Customer to take food back to their chairs or to open picnic tables to consume. BBQ Meal ticket is good for 1 plate served on Friday only from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS. Regular concessions will also be available throughout the entire weekend.
